Codex is an AI software engineer designed by OpenAI to replace humans. It is so sophisticated and advanced that it can do complex tasks in a short amount of time and with greater accuracy than an average software engineer. You didn’t even hear its most interesting feature yet: It can connect to a Git repository and create a PR by resolving issues based on prompts.

How to use Codex:

1. You can access the codex from ChatGPT’s sidebar

2. Connect your Git repositories (A one-time task)

3. Then you will see a screen similar to the above image

4. Choose a branch for Codex to work on

5. Enter the prompt - Issue to resolve, any post checks to perform

6. Hit Code

7. Codex resolves the issue, tests it and fixes the code in record time.
   

Codex is so capable, it can even write its test cases, run them to make sure the code is working fine! It doesn’t end here, it even raises a Pull Request on your behalf with a clear merge message, which can then be reviewed.
